East Indian rosewood - with the most unusual and gorgeous colours; particularly on the back, with maple purflings and rosewood bindings.
European bearclaw spruce - cut from a tree which Tobias regards as very special because of the density and stiffness of the timber. The intricate rosette features a key motif; a heraldic symbol of the town. Note - the bridge saddle when new, was left long to be cut to length after action height selection. Lovely multi-line purflings and rosewood bridge
Rubner tuners - especially made for Tobias with snakewood buttons, sideplate engraving and 'T.B.' initials.
65cm. With 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard
52 mm at the nut.
1490 grams
New and looking very handsome. All shellac french polished.
Tobias Braun makes very high quality instruments often with exceptional material quality. This particular instrument has the most beautiful Indian rosewood and a very fine spruce top. With influences from 1912 Manuel Ramirez and 1924 Santos, these guitars are designed to maintain the quick, Spanish response of the smaller-bodied guitar combined with a rich, deep bass of larger Santos body.
This one has immediate quality with a deep bass that holds the bottom octave well, combined with a sweet and characterful treble. The projection and recording quality is particularly good. A fine concert guitar for performer, collector or anyone that appreciates the beauty of this level of craftsmanship.Tobias Braun - Click here to find out more about this maker
