Satinwood (West Indian - fagara flava). This is a stiff and heavy wood highly suitable for guitar bodies which Tobias has good experience of. At the same time it is very attractive particularly after it darkens with time, revealing more the characteristic figuring. All french-polished.
European spruce - of top quality with bearclaw figuring. The intricate rosette features a key motif. Note - the bridge saddle when new, was left long to be cut to length after action height selection - which was done.
Rubner tuners - especially made for Tobias with ebony buttons, sideplate engraving and 'T.B.' initials.
65cm
51.5mm at the nut
New and pristine; not mark on it.
Tobias Braun makes very high quality instruments often with interesting and superlative materials. This particular guitar has a Santos Hernandez plantilla and is one of his 'Collector Series'. In addition to its striking beauty, it has terrific sounds and plenty of power. The bass is deep from its F-F# body resonance, the treble sings and the middle of the guitar range is rich and colourful. All together a simply excellent guitar for performer, collector or enthusiast and a good opportunity to acquire a very individual instrument of such quality. The guitar is being sold by its first owner who is selling the larger part of a fine collection to fund a new project.
