  • Comments:

Stephen Rees produces a smaller numbers of guitars each year but to the highest possible quality standards. Indeed, the build quality, attention to detail and standard of finish are all world class. Having attended the Romanillos courses in Sigüenza, Stephen was later asked to join them as teacher; a position he still holds today and enjoys a strong reputation with those who were instructed by him.
The sound of these instruments is very refined with excellent balance and consistency up & down as well as across the strings ... and the trebles particularly have a strong, focussed core to the note. With depth of bass, clarity, good projection and a singing quality from the treble, these guitars are of enviable standard and the reputation of the maker deserves to become more widespread. Highly recommended.
