  Flamed East Indian Laurel (the scientific name is Terminalia elliptica). This is a highly attractive timber that presents beautifully on both back and sides - and clearly from the sound, works perfectly well as a tonewood. With flamed maple purfling and East Indian rosewood bindings.
  Body length:- 476mm.
  Top bout:- 262 mm wide & 95 mm deep.
  Waist:- 218 mm
  Bottom bout:- 353 mm wide & 95 mm deep.
  Overall length:- 954 mm

• Front:

  European spruce with a good silky texture, 7 fan-strut construction with arches in the waist harmonic bar, rosewood bridge with decorated tie-block cap.

• Tuners:

  Nicolo Alessi with Hauser-shaped sideplates and ebony buttons mounted on a rosewood-faced head.

• Scale:

  61.5 cm with 19 frets (20 for the 1st string) on an ebony fingerboard

• Neck Width:

  50mm - with 41mm string spacing,

• Weight:

  1460 grams

• Condition:

  New.

• Comments:

  This is another in a very successful series of short scale length guitars, designed for players with smaller hands & shorter fingers. Rather than just go for a small reduction in size to say 64cm or 63.5cm, Rik Middleton is thinking why not make it noticeably more comfortable so long as the sound is preserved. The body size is also slightly scaled down to keep everything in proportion.
  The specific idea of 61.5cm is that if you put a capo on the 1st fret of a 65cm scale guitar - that gives you the same fretboard dimensions of the 61.5cm - and is easy for you to test.
  The skill of this maker is such that the sound quantity, string tension and depth of sound are all fairly normal and is a pleasure to play. With an air resonance around F#, the sound has richness and depth of bass with well-balanced middle and treble.
