Highly attractive rosewood - very straight-grained, quarter-sawn and with such attractive colour and contrasts. Framed very effectively with dark bindings and single-line boxwood purfling.
European spruce with loads of medullary rays showing it to be very well quarter-sawn. It also has a lovely tanned colour, attractive geometric rosette and double purflings.
Nicolo Alessi - with brass sideplates and white mother-of-pearl buttons.
65.4cm. With 20th fret.
53.5mm at the nut.
New. All finished in finely-applied lacquer polish
Rik Middleton's instruments are very finely crafted and with much thought in the process. The curves and cambers of the fingerboard and frets for example are very precisely done, aiming for ultimate playability. The sound is very classical with good balance, a rounded, sustaining middle and treble and a depth of bass that originates from the G body resonance. These are beautifully-crafted guitars representing very good value-for-money.
