Richard Newman is a relatively new maker producing very persuasive instruments. Made in traditional manner and style, they have seven fan-struts, generally as Torres. The workmanship and finish is very pleasing and most importantly, they have refined musical qualities and very good playability. This one has an air resonance around G giving it a rich and warm bass depth with a nicely balanced middle and treble. These totally hand-crafted instruments are a really good buy with refinement and sublety worthy of more expensive instruments.
