The body is of exceptional, highly-figured and colourful rosewood. The back is without decorative centre strip, to allow the beauty of the wood to be the main focus of attention - only one of two that Paul had done like that at the time. Doubled purflings on both back and sides with snakewood bindings.
European bearclaw spruce with the well-recognised, stylised fleur-de-Lys rosette with Paul's regiment colours of crimson and gold. Similar decoration is in the bridge tie-block
Rodgers with engraved, nickel silver sideplates and traditional-shaped, synthetic ivory buttons

In nearly-new, bright and shiny condition, with only very minor little marks here and there.
All shellac french-polished.
