1984 - number 571
Very attractive, straight-grained timber; uncertain of the origin as it doesn't look like Indian rosewood but has a grain and pore texture untypical of Brazilian ... very handsome though, with double-lined purflings throughout. The back has X-bracing.
European spruce of lovely ambered colour with a rosette in black and reds framed with rope edgings. Rosewood bridge with matching tie-block decoration.
Original tuning machines of unknown make, with Munich design side-plates and perloid buttons
65cm with 19 frets on ebony fingerboard
51.4mm at the nut with 42 mm string spacing.
1750 grams
Showing the most minor of marks only, this guitar has clearly been handled with great care and respect and is consequently in lovely condition - no cracks, no repairs, no significant marks and appears to be the original finish throughout. Really looks lovely.
This is one of Paul Fischer's fan-strutted guitars with X-format back bracing, made with fine quality timbers and looking very handsome.
It has very balanced, refined sound; as you would expect ... and with good sustain and warmth with body resonance just above G.
It is so pleasing to find older instruments of highly-respected makers that have been kept in such good condition; the age adding something to the quality of the sound too. Very reasonably-priced.Paul Fischer - Click here to find out more about this maker
