Although making classical guitars full-time since only 2010, Marco Bortolozzo produces very accurate and precise instruments; mainly copies or inspirations from Antonio de Torres. Having started out with good woodworking skills and with much of his own research, Marco credits luthier Dario Pontiggia for an unusually rapid pace of gaining technical ability and understanding. There is no doubt that he really understands the connection between the construction design, assembly and musical quality of the finished instruments ... and the workmanship and polishing is excellent.
This particular guitar is based on the plantilla and layout of Torres FE09 with beautiful decoration taken from other typical Torres instruments. Not only is the feel and appearance very authentic but so is the sound which, from its below-E air resonance, has great depth of bass and penetrating treble. It is by necessity, very light in weight and is great fun to play. It has surprising power, energy, projection and offers ease of finding tonal variety.
This is the second we have had of these Torres models with bird's eye maple body. They have a sound character more than reminiscent of a real Torres, with surprising strength of sound. Lovely.Marco Bortolozzo - Click here to find out more about this maker
