In remarkable condition for 50 years old guitar; with no repairs and no cracks. The back, sides, neck and head have very few marks at all. The front has numerous shallow playing marks and string change marks - but all very minor and not very noticeable.
It appears that the 1950's and 1960's guitars made personally by Manuel Velazquez or, as in this case, made by co-workers such as Juan Orozco under Manuel's direction, are very much in the Hauser I pattern. Not just the dimensions and general design but also in the feel and sound. There is a pleasing depth of bass and middle with a sweet yet clear singing treble.
This is the 'Special' version of this model, probably due to the choice of timbers and use of the Lansdorfer tuners. At less than half the price of those solely made by Manuel, these instruments can be of equal quality in terms of sound and playability.Manuel Velazquez - Click here to find out more about this maker
