Leonard Plattner bought the workshop, tools and remaining timber stock from Arcangel Fernandez and spent nearly a year learning his methods and working alongside him until his retirement. Today, Leonard is making very high quality guitars and frankly, this new instrument is better than any Arcangel classical that I have previously played. This individual artisan-crafted instrument is very different from much that comes from the bigger names in Madrid and is more like those charming characters that were produced in the 40's and 50's.
This very well-balanced guitar is immediately strong and open with a crisp, focussed bass that has warmth from the G air resonance and with a treble that is remarkable for its clarity and sustain.
This first guitar from Leonard, for which I already had high hopes, has surpassed my expectations. Highly recommended.Leonard Plattner - Click here to find out more about this maker
