This instrument is in remarkable condition for its 173 years of age.
The front has no repairs and no cracks. The head, machine tuners and neck are in excellent condition. The rosewood back and sides, which have been re-polished, look excellent too though there are some cleats inside underneath some tight-closed grainline cracks - most of which which may well be superficial only; there is virtually nothing visible from the outside.
Unfortunately there is no coffin case available - and until one is made, will be supplied in a modern, over-sized case.
René Lacôte was a highly important French guitar maker whose instruments were played by the most prominent players of that era. Here is an exceptionally fine example in extremely good condition and perhaps most importantly with no repairs or cracks to the front and with neck and fingerboard angle still in perfect playing condition.
For a player specialising in the 19th century composer repertoire, this is a real treat. It has has surprising depth and warmth combined with a fullness of sound that projects well. An extremely fine example.Lacöte - Click here to find out more about this maker
