Spanish cypress - very straight-grained and seemingly quarter-sawn, with decorative back centre-strip. Feather effect purflings matched on the back, both edges of the sides, the front and through to the borders of the rosette. All shellac french-polished. Harmonious design details and clean lines.

  • Front:

European spruce - with very even grain width across the board and a hint of bearclaw. With attractive geometric rosette and rosewood bridge with mother-of-pearl framed tie-block.

  • Tuners:

Fustero machine tuners with engraved brass side-plates and pearloid buttons.

  • Scale:

65cm with 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard

  • Neck Width:

52mm at the nut with 42.5 mm string spacing.

  • Weight:

    1457 grams

  • Condition:

In original, tidy condition. No cracks, no repairs, no re-polishing.
Has some shallow playing marks - some on the front and rear of the head; little on the back, sides an neck - nearly all of which is only in the polish, only shows with light shining at a particular angle and could readily be polished out.

  • Comments:

This cypress-bodied instrument is undoubtedly a classical guitar with normal classical feel and balance. The cypress perhaps lends a quick release to the sound as well as some brightness and sparkle. Many famed makers have made fine cypress classicals not the least being Antonio de Torres.
Very well constructed with high quality materials, this is a handsome instrument with clear, open sound and overall something just a little different and well worth consideration.
