• Year:

  1981 - number 591 - named 'Ladi Diana'. Labelled, dated, numbered, named and signed by the maker - and also under the spruce front.

• Body:

  East Indian rosewood - quite broad-grained and with more slab-cut back which presents swirl-patterns in the timber - like several others seen form the same period.
  Body length :- 483 mm.
  Top bout:- 273 mm wide & 89 mm deep.
  Waist:- 235 mm & 93 mm deep.
  Bottom bout:- 360 mm wide & 97 mm deep.
  Shellac french-polished.

• Front:

  High quality European spruce - extremely silky with medullary figuring all over the top and carrying one of the famed arches rosettes, rosewood bridge with bone edging to the tie-block.

• Tuners:

  Lansdorfer tuners with white rollers, white metal engraved side-plates and square buttons, all set on a head with broad sapwood centre and decorative centre strip.

• Scale:

  65cm with 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard

• Neck Width:

  52mm at the nut with 45 mm string spacing.

• Weight:

  1458 grams

• Condition:

  The guitar is in very good condition with very little to report:-
  There are no repairs or cracks.
  One patch of significant wear to the treble-side of the sound-hole had been crudely over-varnished. We have make that good and also removed numerous end-of-nail marks that were unsightly. The resulting pale patch will naturally darken over the coming months to even out with the rest of the front.
  There is fret wear which although cosmetically would benefit from re-fret, appears not to affect sound or playability.
  The back, sides, neck and head are all in very good condition.

• Comments:

  This is a fine and refined quality Romanillos. The sound has good depth of bass from an F air resonance and a clear, strong treble giving good projection. It is also very comfortable to play and offers refinement and quality from first playing.
