The guitar is in very good condition with few things to report:-
From a period when it may have been dry some years ago, there is very slight separation in the front centre-seam below the bridge. This is near-closed, glued and is not obviously-seen.
There is one glued crack in the bottom of the back, left-hand side. It is level and the polish touched-up so that it is not easily found.
The guitar has recently been re-fretted.
The front has some nail marks and scratches in some areas; most of which is superficial and could be removed by refresh of the polish.
This is a fine and refined quality Romanillos with back decoration that is perhaps unique and from a creative period. The sound has good depth of bass and a warm, clear treble. Being of larger body than some of the more petite body patterns, the volume and projection is good. It is also very comfortable to play and offers refinement and quality from first playing.
It has the original hand-made Roger Bamford custom-fit case.
These guitars made by José Romanillos and from a period at the height of his creative activity are increasingly sought-after, world-wide.José Luis Romanillos - Click here to find out more about this maker
