Jean-Noël Rohé is a maker who follows in the traditions and ethos of Dominique Field and Daniel Friederich. In 2004 Jean-Noël was awarded the title "Un des Meilleur Ouvrier de France" (one of the best craftsmen in France) and in 2007 received an award in Cremona for high build quality. He makes only about 10 guitars each year in order to achieve the meticulous build and finish quality he strives for. Made in a traditional style using top quality materials and fan-braced fronts, his guitars have a refined sound with clarity, quite loud, good voice separation, roundness of sound, excellent balance and with character but not too much to get in the way. The fine detail of the rosette indicates the meticulous attention to Jean-Noël's construction standard. His guitars have a rigid body with internally-lined sides for strength of sound - and modified harmonic bars achieving unusual consistency of sound quality up and down the fingerboard as well as across the six strings. The demand for these guitars is quickly growing and the next three are already sold, so to be able to buy a recent used one is good opportunity.
