• Body:

  Flamed maple - with really beautiful figuring and ambered colour. Purfling in Hauser layout with plum centre-strip and plum bindings. All shellac french-polished. There are no CITES-restricted timbers in the construction.
  Body length:- 484 mm.
  Top bout:- 276 mm wide & 87 mm deep.
  Waist:- 231 mm & 91 mm deep.
  Bottom bout:- 363 mm wide & 92 mm deep.

• Front:

  Design much influenced by Hermann Hauser and Antonio de Torres. Dense, old European spruce with Fritz's beautiful adaption of a Hauser-style rosette (containing rosewoods, yew, white maple and tulipwood) and matching double purflings. The bridge is stained plum wood - which has very similar density and stiffness of Brazilian rosewood with bone-edged tie-block capping.

• Tuners:

  Klaus Scheller with Munich-shaped side-plates, white rollers and white mother-of-pearl buttons, mounted on a head faced with ebony/

• Scale:

  65cm with 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard

• Neck Width:

  51.5mm at the nut with 41.5 mm string spacing.

• Weight:

  1294 grams

  New - and looking beautiful.

• Comments:

  Here is a very fine Fritz Ober guitar with immense physical beauty and impressive musical qualities. With an air resonance at F, it has real bass depth, a strong middle and clear, projecting trebles. Although never copying one specific instrument, Fritz Ober's guitars are very much in the style of Hermann Hauser combined with some aspects of Torres guitars in mind. The plantilla / soundboard shape is very Hauseresque with some reference also to those of Manuel Ramirez and Antonio de Torres.
  It has immediate impact because of its open response. On playing more, you continue to find impressive qualities, clarity, balance, flexibility, focus, weight of each note etc. A really fine and handsome example and with no CITES-restricted hardwoods.
