South american swartzia, rosewood or machaerium - rich and dark with wide, single line boxwood purflings.
Top bout:- 266 mm wide & 89 mm deep.
Waist:- 226 mm wide.
Bottom bout:- 356 mm wide & 92 mm deep. - Front:
European spruce with rosette, bridge shape and dimensions, purflings and bindings as the original.
- Tuners:
Nicolo Alessi with engraved sideplates and synthetic ivory buttons. These are not replica of the originals but are an available pattern in similar character and styling to the originals.

644mm
- Neck Width:
50mm at the nut with 42mm string spacing - as often found on 51mm neck widths
- Weight:
1374 grams
- Condition:
In very near new condition - just the tiniest marks here and there. All shellac, french-polished and looking fabulous.
It is quite a thrill; almost shocking to look at this and think this is how the original may well have looked straight from Santos Hernandez's bench in 1929. -

Here is a very precise replica of a 1929 Santos Hernandez classical guitar and an extraordinarily good guitar to play. Every dimensional detail, decorative detail, weight and feel has been reproduced resulting in a spectacularly beautiful instrument. Most impressive of all is that this guitar does not sound like a typical Christopher Dean concert guitar - but it really does have very similar sound and feel of the original Santos which we owned for some time. Like the original, the air resonance is deep and near Eflat giving it the authentic, deep, old-world character. The treble also has that rounded, full sound that perhaps has some bassy overtones around the note which brings unmistakeable tone character of the early 20th century guitars. What a joyful instrument in every respect!
