1993 number 186
Rosewood - 2-piece back of fine quality, dark and sombre, framed beautifully with kingwood bindings
European spruce with some bearclaw and with an aged, glowing amber colour. The very fine-detailed rosette with its subtle colours, the purflings and bindings all come together to present a beautiful guitar front
Graham Macey tuners. Neck of pale mahogony.
65cm
51 mm at the nut
In good, concert-worthy condition. The back has just one little polish chip on the edge. The sides are bright and shiny with all together about twelve small polish chips or indentations. The back of neck has a couple of marks that you can feel. The front has been spirited over but there are remnants of numerous small nail and string scratch marks. Having said that, its actual appearance is much more pleasing than the impression created by the count of nicks & knocks
Christopher Dean's guitars are widely admired. Although made in 1993, the construction is quite similar to those he makes today and has a really high quality sound. For this reason, this guitar has been loaned by Christopher to many known players who have either performed or recorded with it including Forbes Henderson, Richard Chapman, James Woodrow and Gilbert Biberian. The sounds in this instrument are warm and pure. With very good balance, clarity and projection, here is a mature Christopher Dean that does well what most players want and at a price well below a new one

"Having known Miles for many years now I can say with some authority that dealing with him is a pleasure, due largely to my secure feeling that he, like me, has a genuine love of his subject. Over the years I have always been eager to hear feedback from both Miles, and his customers, and this has helped me greatly to bolster my own passion for the guitar and to refine my work ."
