  South american swartzia, rosewood or machaerium - dark and plain in colour, straight-grained timber with simple yet elegant purfling and rosewood bindings. All shellac french-polished.

• Front:

  European spruce - a really fine silky top with lots of medullary rays over the whole front, carrying a fine-detailed rosette, rosewood bridge with attractive bone framing to the tie-block. The front is shellac french-polished.

• Tuners:

  Rodgers with engraved, brass side-plates and ebony, kidney-shaped buttons

• Scale:

  65cm with 19 frets (plus 20th for the 1st & 2nd strings) on an ebony fingerboard.

• Neck Width:

  52mm with 42.5 mm string spacing

• Weight:

  1550 grams

• Condition:

  This Christopher Dean guitar, barely 12 months old, is in excellent condition. Some polish has just been refreshed to remove some quite superficial marks.

• Comments:

  Christopher Dean guitars have been consistently popular over the years because of their consistently appealing musicality and richness yet clarity of tone.
  This example has a deep voice and clear treble reminiscent of the earlier 20th century guitars. The balance is really good and like many Dean guitars, very responsive to right hand tone change. Being such a recent example it has yet to be fully played in.
  Equally enjoyable for player and listener; amateur or professional, these are super instruments in both looks, tone quality, playability and concert strength.
  So this is an opportunity for an impressive Christopher Dean without having to wait his lengthening order period.
