  • Comments:

Here is a very fine instrument from Bertrand Ligier who is clearly a talented and determined maker, now with a 3-year waiting list that recognises the outstanding quality of his instruments. He is achieving a level of fine craftsmanship that many makers fail to achieve in a lifetime. With clear influences from Robert Bouchet, there are also design and aesthetic reminders of Dominique Field and Jean-Noël Rohé.
The sound character of this guitar is similarly strong, clear, bright, focussed with good projection. With air resonance around G it possesses a warm, deep rounded sound. Immediately impressive, it has the energy of some modern construction instruments but with much greater facility for tone variety.
An exceptional instrument and an opportunity to have one from a maker clearly going places. Waiting time and price are sure to elevate.
