Sebastian Stenzel lives and works in a most attractive and inspiring part of southern Germany, in or very close to the Black Forest area. His village of Sölden is a peaceful, residential place where the view from his workshop window, right on the edge of the village, consists of woodland with a stream running through. The sound of birds is about the only thing to be heard above the noises of working with chisels and scrapers. How many people can be envious of such a working environment. Like the majority or luthier workshops, beyond the orderly stacks of wood, benches and some machinery are interesting photographs, letters from appreciative clients and old instruments of various sorts awaiting repair. An intruiging place to visit - and Sebastian rustles up an excellent cup of coffee too!
