"Kent Guitar Classics provides a highly professional and personal service. It is a joy to choose a guitar in this environment of peace and tranquility under the knowledgeable and friendly guidance of Miles Roberts. You are very sensitive to your client; extremely so; very tactful and observant. Most enjoyable to spend time with you. I am very happy with my (Angelo Vailati) guitar."
"I am delighted with this purchase and thank you again for a first class, professional service throughout."
"I visited you just before Christmas, and received a very warm welcome and meticulous (and enjoyable) display of your student model for me to be confident about buying for my eldest son. The guitar had to be secreted away until his birthday, but was eventually very well received, and Edward is doing really well with its lovely sound. I think the evidence is there in that we suggested that he kept his quality guitar carefully at home and for concerts etc. but carried on taking his cheapo one on the occasions he needed to take it in to school, where we weren't convinced it was not going to be bashed about! But Edward disputed this, and insists on always using the new one - which says it all, I think! Many belated thanks again; we are glad to have taken up Edward's teacher Graham Cleaver's recommendation about you - he too is pleased with the lovely new sound being generated in the lessons!"
"Having checked many sites and read a number of testimonials, Kent Guitar Classics seemed the obvious choice. I first e-mailed then spoke to Miles regarding three guitars and with his advice, I settled on what is the perfect guitar for me . Miles kept me informed of everything I needed to know as promised and was courteous, knowledgeable and charming. I can't speak highly enough of Miles and Kent Guitar Classics. The guitar (Kent Guitar Classics 'Cadenza' model) is everything and more than I expected."
"I would highly recommend Kent Guitar Classics for all your classical guitar needs. He knew what I was looking for before I did! He was able to discuss technical requirements from a distance with ease. I am a very happy customer (KGCL Cadenza model)"
"I ordered a Cadenza model from Kent Guitar Classics after having read exceptionally good reviews on guitar forums and on Youtube. Both Miles Roberts and the luthier Stephen Eden provided me (living in Norway) superb service and guidance in the process. The guitar arrived in Oslo on time and was securely packed. The quality of the guitar, the playability and the sound is simply outstanding. Could not be more happy with the purchase!"

"The most appealing aspect of acquiring a guitar from Kent Guitar Classics is the empathetic, one-to-one service provided in a private, purpose-built studio. The buyer can relax and make informed choices without distraction or time pressure. In management terms, this is a 'total quality' company."
"A good, wide range - to suit both beginner / student and professionals. Service and communication was very professional, prompt and helpful. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the buying experience. Will happily recommend."
"Many thanks. We are very satisfied with the service, communication, price and also the case you recommended is excellent. We were told of you by my son’s guitar teacher and we definitely would recommend you anytime based on this recent experience. Best regards,"
"It's been quite a few years since the first time I visited Kent Guitar Classics, and each time was a great experience. I have been shown a wide variety of very fine instruments and got help in the very difficult task of choosing "the one". I finally came back home with a fantastic Oren Myers 2015 model, with great balance and sound, deep bass and something even more impressive and difficult to find on guitars with the qualities I mentioned before: very easy to play. Very helpful and professional advice, in a relaxed atmosphere. Also very quick response from both Miles and Oren of any enquiries I've had after purchase. Thanks also to Christine for your hospitality. A real pleasure to deal with you."
Daniela Rossi - Argentina
"Thanks for yesterday. Isabella is totally chuffed with her new guitar (P Castillo 203) and your service was exemplary!"
"I recently bought one of your Stephen Eden 'Cadenza' model guitars - I absolutely love the guitar and would recommend it to anyone interested in a guitar of that price!"
"The instrument is a keeper. I like the focused powerful sound, evenness of tone, warmth, and clarity. The instrument is well-balanced which is a must for me and easy to play. Thank you for being informative and helpful. Your level of service is most remarkable."

"The most appealing aspect of acquiring a guitar from Kent Guitar Classics is the empathetic, one-to-one service provided in a private, purpose-built studio. The buyer can relax and make informed choices without distraction or time pressure. In management terms, this is a 'total quality' company. (Juan Hernandez - Hauser model 2015)"
"When unable to visit, it becomes the essence of any purchase if the guitar available (Daniele Marrabello) can be described with a knowledge, accuracy and enthusiasm that in its own way is subsequently confirmed as a truth on the arrival of the guitar. Miles delivers those qualities in buckets and in so doing the buying process is a very secure experience."
"Many thanks for the promptness. The Paco Castillo 202 guitar turned up today in perfect condition. My daughter absolutely adores it. Kindest regards."
"Thank you so very much. You are first class in every way and what a pleasure to do business with you from ordering to delivery and everything in between. Yes, the guitar is beautiful in every aspect the sound quality is exactly what I was hoping for. Much appreciated Miles!"
Michael Smith - USA
"I have but one comment to make…. I have bought guitars (and returned many) from almost every dealer of fine classical guitars in the US and Canada. Not a single one of those experiences even comes close to the level of service I’ve received from Miles of Kent Guitar Classics."
Jeff Robertson - USA
"I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Miles and Kent Guitar Classics to anyone who sought my advice regarding buying or selling guitars. The service (selling on commission) is professional and reliable. My communications were responded to promptly every time."
"We were very pleased with the service we received. and the speed that everything was handled for us. When asking for any information about any of the guitars, they had all the information we needed. (Castillo 203)"
"This was a first class experience; it was personal and focussed on my needs. I came away extremely confident I had bought the best possible guitar for my needs. I often get nervous playing in front of people but I quite quickly felt relaxed."
"I felt more like a friend than a customer (bought Stephen Frith guitar). Very relaxed surroundings and wonderful personal service. I don't think anything would be too much trouble for Miles."
"I liked the sound clips it was instrumental in buying a guitar from you. The import duty is high but it is worth it and has nothing to do with you and everything to do with our government alas. I was pleased throughout the interaction between Miles and myself. His emails were so speedy that I was astonished, as we live in very different time zones . His enthusiasm was consistent and infectious. I am in love with my new Christopher Dean guitar that arrived on the date specified after a long trot through China and arrived in Hobart Australia after a week on the journey, perfectly packed. I cannot say enough about the quality of help and the quality of the instrument thank you. I shall be recommending you."
Justine Newport - Tasmania
"Nearly two weeks on now from collecting my Stephen Eden 64cm scale guitar, I just wanted to express my thanks for all the help you gave in helping me over the past fifteen months. Within a day it was playing like a dream and has been a delight to play ever since. I appreciated your patience with someone who was a "returning" guitarist. You and Christine provided a calm and easy atmosphere in which I could explore what was, for me, a big decision in an unhurried manner - and where else could one do such a thing with a cappuccino by one's side? I could have confidence in your expertise and knowledge from a player's perspective as well as someone who loves the craftsmanship side of lutherie . My Very Best Wishes for the future."
"I know its been a little while, but it has taken Kieran a while to get used to his new Paco Castillo 202 guitar, but he absolutely loves it now. The sound is fantastic. Thank you so much for the joy you have given him. Kind regards"
"I'm out of words for this Juan-Antonio Correa Marin guitar; it is just so special. I cannot thank you enough for this. I'm very happy. Regards,"
Robin Jämtgård - Sweden
"Miles, I put my trust in you, buying unseen and the guitar (Gerhard Oldiges 'spanish') is simply stunning in all ways and just the one for me. Thanks very much for all your help and now, back to the practice!"
"My Paco Castillo 202 guitar arrived today. All good and lovely it is too. Your advice regarding its quality in terms of tone, build and value for money, at that price point, was spot on. I also appreciated being kept informed at each stage of its UPS journey to me. Thank you for great customer service and I would certainly recommend your shop and model of business. If I learn to play the thing well will be back to you again !!"
Cormac Doyle - Ireland
"Just wanted to express my thanks for an informative, relaxed and very easy-going buying experience. It was a joy for me to hear the variations between guitars I was interested in without having to play them myself. I have, over the years, bought many guitars (most of them steel-strung) but I can't remember being under less pressure to make a decision. Thanks again for your help, encouragement and patience."
"Just a note to confirm the high quality of the Walter Verreydt guitar that I bought from you. It has been a pleasure to discover Kent Guitar Classics and to try out a wide range of fine instruments. Thank you for your efficient, professional (but also friendly) service."
Andrea De Vitis - Italy
"Dear Miles & Christine. Thank you again for yet another great guitar. The Francisco Barba flamenco is everything that was described on your website and more; an amazing guitar at a great price. Also enjoyed a wonderful time with you as always trying so many great guitars."
"Be prepared to experience levels of professionalism and service that you thought never existed. The effort spent in discussing and sending a Paco Castillo 204 guitar was extraordinary. My son loves playing his new guitar - and I love listening to it! Please keep this going for when we upgrade. Many Thanks."
"Miles at Kent Guitar Classics provides a comfortable environment where you can relax and take your time in finding the right guitar for you. His knowledge of guitars and range of models is excellent for players of all levels. Al lof my questions were answered and more; I learned a few things! Highly recommended."
"Buying an unseen and untested instrument (Kevin Aram) probably should be ill-advised and a risky idea ... but my experience shows that trust and careful communication with you people works excellently. You have an excellent range and it is also nice that British luthiers are so well represented. A most satisfying experience."
Karsten Wittorff - Denmark
"Thanks again for another great buying experience from Miles. My latest acquisition from KGC, a Hauser Heritage, is phenomenal. A brief convivial chat confirmed all the necessary details and the very well packed guitar arrived next day. The Gary Southwell Hauser is a bench copy of the 1940’s Rose Augustine Hauser and was developed in collaboration with Julian Bream. It has all the tone you could want if you like that lyrical Hauser sweetness and deep bass. Having Hauser guitars in his collection, as well as a love for their sound, made Miles the right guy for this purchase. "
"My Alhambra 7P guitar has served me well for the last 13 years. However, as an intermediate level player I thought it was time to upgrade to the type of guitar I could grow with/into and that would reflect my progress as I, hopefully, become more proficient. There are a lot of guitars that would seem to fit the bill within my budget so after some 12 months of playing many guitars at many locations I came across some very favourable reviews of Kent Guitars on the internet. The reviews were well justified. I spent many hours trying some very fine guitars within my price range while receiving valuable advice from Miles in his purpose-build studio. It was clear that his objective was not to sell me the most expensive guitar I could afford but to help me select the guitar that would best compliment my playing style and be most comfortable with. It was also very helpful when he played some of the guitars himself to show how they sound in the hands of someone more proficient. After some time I finally chose the Juan Hernandez Concierto FPT spruce, a very sweet sounding and easy to play guitar, extraordinary for the price. Thank you Miles. I would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a new guitar."
"Very helpful for a beginner like me. It was not about selling the most expensive guitar but about giving me a great guitar at a reasonable price. A shop that cares what the customer wants rather than a quick sale. Excellent from start to finish - Thanks a lot."
"This was a very pleasant, secure buying experience where access to patient, knowledgeable staff (Miles) encouraged and supported me through what could have been an "at risk activity" . I received a great guitar (Walter Verreydt) and a very professional service. Absolutely excellent advice and spot-on in terms of instrument descriptions. So easy to understand with little or no 'esoteric' descriptions."
Andy Warnock - Scotland
"The combination of choice, excellent advice without any pressure and personal attention in a studio makes the process of buying a guitar easy and pleasurable; easier than in a shop."
"I went to see Miles at his studio looking for a Guitar with a particular sound that was difficult to explain but would know it when I heard it.After trying a few, Miles knew what I was looking for and produced an Antonio Loriente 'Clarita'. Absolutely brilliant. If you're looking to buy a classical guitar, visit Miles first. Thanks again Miles."
"Miles, I can't describe well enough how satisfied I am about your service and attitude in finding this wonderful instrument for me. With your expertise it was so easy to choose this particular instrument, Oren Myers 2013-33. I had been searching a new guitar for a couple of months and I was kind of confused what do about it until I found your website. From the very first moment I felt confident and I was sure to find a guitar that faces my expectations. All information from you was accurate and fast. Even sound samples were available the next day!. Transportation to Finland took only two days. I will certainly recommend Kent Guitar Classics to anybody."
Arttu Moisio - Finland
"Miles is so passionate about what he deals in. I came to Kent with a sound in my head and left with that sound in my hands. I absolutely love my Kevin Aram guitar. Great ability to put you at ease so you can think clearly. Christine makes a good cup of tea too."
"Miles was not at all snooty to this very amateur player. he helped me by playing and listening to me to select the right instrument. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and excellent help. Thank you Miles."
"Standard of service and communication second to none. Very friendly, helpful with good advice available on technical aspects. Quality instruments; quality service; quality satisfaction."
"Having visited Kent Guitar Classics, I can't imagine I'd want to buy a guitar from anyone else. Warm, friendly, one-to-one service and completely relaxing. A thoroughly wonderful experience purchasing my first classical guitar - and it is beautiful."
"Fantastic service & communication - regular e-mail updates and the 'package' I received with the guitar (care instructions, checklist etc) is better than anything similar I have had. I would highly recommend that anyone looking to buy a guitar speaks to Miles at Kent Guitar Classics. Top class service."
"The whole visit was a pleasure with an amazing selection of instruments, relaxed atmosphere, helpful guidance and pleasant surroundings .... and the end result, my Paco Castillo 204 is truly amazing. I would certianly recommend you to others; you should be the first place to contact."
"Fantastic advice - I wouldn't have known where to start otherwise. As a virtual beginner, I found the advice and information invaluable. My Paco Castillo 203 is wonderful for me. I loved listening to the extracts on different instruments which are available on the website."
"I have never seen a guitar packed so well ... insides re-inforced with particle board. I live half way around the world from Kent, still I have received a guitar in two days. KGCL handles all the paperwork so all I have to do amounts to a phone call or two and a fax or e-mail to FedEx. Even though they are in another country, I would not hesitate to do business with them again. Selection and service as good as someone will get anywhere."
Customer in Hawaii
"Excellent advice - everything explained clearly and plenty of time to try the guitars - especially good for those who need time to decide! Buying a guitar can be nerve-wracking and filled with apprehension. Miles' kind and very attentive service made it instead an interesting, educational and nerve-free experience."
"Wow. I've just put the Angelo Vailati down after playing for four hours :) It sounds absolutely stunning. It looks absolutely stunning. Thanks again for your time and advice today Miles, I've come away with an absolute pearl of a guitar!"
"Just a quick note to say thanks. Your service and product is first class – especially when buying over the internet! The guitar (Simon Ambridge - Hauser model) is exactly as you described - with a little wear you’d expect on a well played-in, 3 year old instrument. If it hadn’t been played so much (and taken the odd scrape!) I doubt it would have opened out as much as it has. The bass is deep and throaty, yet defined and clear. The trebles are bell-like; they sing like they should and balance well with the basses. It’s a truly wonderful guitar. I’ve hardly been able to put it down. Old pieces have a new lease of life, and so do I it seems!"
"To you Miles, a note of personal thanks for wonderful service, I bought this guitar without access to any forum type reviews (and therefore perhaps one might say under some risk). My judgement was based mostly on your recommendation against my budget and current skill level but also based on a strong feeling (after have spoken to you on the phone) that I could trust you implicitly – your passion for guitars and your open, communicative style. I have enjoyed proudly showing this instrument to all my friends – just as all of them have enjoyed playing it. (Paco Castillo 205) I would recommend you to anyone purchasing a classical guitar via an internet transaction – you have shown a level of involvement and personal commitment to customer satisfaction that exceeds “normal” transactions of this nature."
Stan & Joan Truby - South Africa
"Hi Miles - Well what stunning instruments. Whilst the pictures were good, they didn't do it justice, attention to detail, fit & finish are superb!! .... & the sound is full & round from bass to treble. The quality is well above the price point, & the pod case is excellent value too & can I commend you on the superb packaging also, top notch! I shall recomend you to all I know & can. I will be in touch in winter re a £1000+ guitar after I have sold some basses! lol. Best regards, Richard."
"Hi Miles - The guitar (Juan Hernandez Concierto) arrived at 1pm today, and all in one piece. I'm now really enjoying getting to know it. It's been fascinating getting to know about the many guitars and makers through your web site, and also a pleasure dealing with you personally. Many thanks and best wishes, Bob"
"I would not have thought it either possible or advisable to select a new guitar via the internet - that is until I found Kent Guitar Classics website. This is a fund of precise and authentic information which accurately catalogues construction materials together with the sound and playing qualities of each individual instrument. This enabled me to narrow my selection range to three guitars before I made contact with you and in our subsequent telephone and email conversations the Juan Hernandez Torres 65 was successfully matched to my personal abilities and requirements. Thank you Miles for your patience and invaluable advice given during our conversations. I am really delighted with the JH Torres which arrived in Edinburgh within 24 hours of dispatch."
Mike Blott - Edinburgh
"The guitar was delivered in perfect condition! I love this Dominique Delarue. Over all it is extremely balanced. Thank you so much for all your help through this process. I'm playing a concert in London and would very much like to meet you! Anyway, thank you so much for everything and please tell Dominique thank you from me!"
Thomas Walsh - USA
"(Ref - 4 concert guitar purchases) I received the Marin Montero guitar with perfect condition - thank you for careful packing. This sound has clear, depth and very good balance. I have owned two Marin Montero guitars until now. This ziricote guitar is higher quality than those guitars. I like this guitar very much. Please be advised that the shipment arrived today - with very good condition. Thank you for packing it very strongly. (Christopher Dean) I received the guitar. The condition is very good, and the sound is wonderful. I am very happy. ( Weissgerber guitar)"
Tsukasa Nakazono - Japan
"The guitar (new Antonio Marin Montero flamenco) has arrived in very good condition, thank you for packing very careful. And it's a real beauty ! I have no experience with sounds of flamenco guitars, but I'm very pleased with it, at first with its very strong and deep bass, that's what I like very much. I think it's essential, because such a lightweight guitar without a strong bass would have a lack of volume. I think I shall write more when having played more with this wonderful and powerful Marin."
Hans Joachim Jauer - Germany
"Excellent, efficient, good quality service."
Wendy Oliver-Lewis - Wales
"The atmosphere was congenial and time was given to my son to both listen to and play a range of guitars over a selection of music genres. My son's opinions were respected and questions answered readily. This experience was not fraught or pressured and he enjoyed choosing his new guitar."
Mrs S Button
"Miles, as you know, I was purchasing this guitar as a gift for a good friend. Your choice was over £500 less than I was expecting to pay. My friend is absolutely over the moon with the build quality and sound of the Paco Castillo 204. A perfect outcome and well worth the trip to Chipstead. Thank you so much."
"Miles provided not only expert advice during the selection of my guitar, but also ably demonstrated their capabilities in addition to allowing me to try a wide selection. I was particularly impressed that Miles had not only rated my selected guitar but had adjusted the action to fit my ability prior to my visit."
"Excellent service and communication, even all the way to Sydney. The Prudencio Saez 22 flamenco is a beautiful cypress & spruce instrument with a rich, bright tone and nice sustain. The low action is very comfortable. The guitar's amber lacquer finish looks very elegant with its rosewood bindings. It plays better than I hoped!"
Chris Beacham - Sydney, Australia
"Miles - Thank you for a lovely visit and giving me the benefit of your expertise. You know a great deal about playing (really impresive!) and also the construction methods and materials used. In my case, you knew all I needed and more about the UK luthiers many of whom you know personally. Also thanks for the tea and tips on tone production. You love the guitar and it shows; Long may you continue your service to players everywhere."
"My decision to place my late brother's five guitars for sale with Kent Guitar Classics has been fully justified through a totally professional service incorporating unquestionnable expertise together with a warmth of a personal service provided by Miles Roberts."
"A class apart from the high street guitar shops. Excellent, personalised service from a man who clearly knows his stuff both as a player and a dealer. Miles enables you to make an informed choice with all the info you could want coupled with expert advice and demonstrations that never leave you with the feeling you are being pushed into a decision. I am very happy with my Paco Castillo 205; already a very rewarding instrument."
"I have formed the opinion that Kent Guitar Classics is an honest, competent and expert place of business and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in the classical guitar market."
Ravi Nair - Scotland
"It was a pleasure to visit and spend some proper time making a decision without pressure. I am now the proud owner of a most beautiful instrument (Paco Castillo) thanks to your kind advice and attention."
"It was particularly helpful to be in a calm, unpressurised surroundings - and Miles' demonstration playing was very useful - and motivating. Being able to speak to and listen to Miles' advice and playing gave me exactly the support I needed to choose the right instrument for me (Paco Castillo)"
"I found Kent Guitar Classics on the internet and read a few impressive testimonials on various blogs. The reality exceeded all my expectations. The day in the shop was one of the most exciting days in my life. Miles was so friendly and made me feel at ease and I was spoilt for choice. Before I visited KGC I was afraid I would not like any of the guitars and would be disappointed again, but I had difficulties choosing from the huge variety I was shown. The huge benefit that Miles can play anything you ask on the guitar of your choice and to hear the sound from the other perspective is very important. The delivery service was excellent. The guitar was packed so well that I could probably drop it from the roof of a building without causing any damage. I highly recommend KGC to anyone and if I ever need another guitar, it will be my first choice. Additionally, make your trip a day trip - the surrounding area is beautiful."
""Do I really need another flamenco guitar? - I already have two blanca’s, either with quite different voices but I’m happy working with both, as the music dictates. I had been tempted by a Stephen Hill flamenco negra on KGC‘s excellent website, a copy of a 1972 David Rubio owned by Juan Martin; I thought it would compliment the 1970 Rubio (classical) I already own. I decided this time I really would regret not at least seeing the instrument, so notwithstanding the 300 mile+ round trip (not to mention the M25), forthwith emailed Miles to make an appointment. I would echo all that has been said in testimonials here: Miles and Christine facilitate a congenial atmosphere at KGC, absolutely conducive to making a proper, unhurried, correct decision about whether or not to buy (in fact I knew after playing for only a few minutes this guitar was for me: it possessed clarity, a good separation together with volume plus that essential percussive quality (more than I expected from a negra) and of course an even response). My experience at Kent Guitar Classics was a happy one: Miles is a first-rate guitarist, his knowledge of classical and flamenco guitars is comprehensive, he is I’m sure not only altruistic but also committed to providing a superior service and ultimately, (something which I personally appreciate) is thoroughly business-like. I would without reserve recommend Kent Guitar Classics to anyone looking to buy a classical or flamenco guitar.""
"Excellent communication - very easy to arrange a visit and very prompt replies to queries Miles helped buying a guitar be a pleasure. He gave me great, helpful advice, allowed plenty of time to try a number of instruments in a very relaxed setting. It is extremely valuable to be able to know the guitar you're buying suits you perfectly and I'm delighted with mine (Rik Middleton 2010)"
"The quality of my Ambridge guitar is superb. The custom service in every step of the purchase process is very efficient and careful and Miles is always interested in all details. Excellent service."
Alvaro Wolff - Colombia
"Relaxed and informal setting - a positive experience compared with shops in Manchester! Thank you Miles for the relaxed and friendly service given. I am very pleased with my Richard Newman guitar and look forward to the day when my technical ability will do justice to this fine instrument."
"Top class service & communication. The definitive person to see for an excellent explanation and demonstration of guitars for the novice or near-novice."
"I had a very happy experience buying my Prudencio model 8 guitar. The calm environment was ideal and I felt confident from the start that Miles would guide me to a sensible decision. This most important aspect was the re-assurance of buying from an expert prepared to take some trouble in finding a suitable instrument. I shall return to Kent Guitar Classics when I decide to move up the price range which won't be needed for a few years yet."
"I was quite impressed with the range of guitars available and wished I had found the website two years ago. The information on each guitar is quite staggering - a real paradise for guitarists. I couldn't decide between the Jose Antonio - Fleta or Hauser copy. I made a request for Villa-Lobos Prelude # 1 to be played so that I could make a direct comparison between the two. I was astonished when the request was honoured within a couple of days. Super A+ service. The after-sales care is equally impressive - when asking about strings and lowering action height - and he even replied whilst abroad. It makes me feel so appreciated as a customer. The after-service is second to none - apart from the Ritz - but then you pay through your nose!"
"Your service was stunning! ... I highly recommend Kent Guitar Classics, especially for those wishing to try a wide range of quality international instruments. I was most impressed with the excellent service from Miles Roberts. A true professional and a pleasure to do business with. I am thrilled with my 2009 Jose Marin Plazuelo."
Avril Kinsey - RSA
"Expert advice given in a very friendly environment. Miles made the buying experience both very informative and friendly. Range of guitars - very good and very well described and demonstrated."
"Miles' exemplary knowledge, honesty and wisdom makes him a fine ambassador of guitars. He enabled me to choose a divine Antonio Marin Montero satinwood / spruce guitar which exceeds all my expectations. It is a dream and I am absolutely delighted with such a beautiful instrument; a treasure forever. Miles' enthusiasm, warmth and generosity and patience is second to none. I tried out many guitars in a pleasant, comfortable room with no time restraint or pressure imposed. Outstanding service. Thanks to Christine too for the tea and biscuits."
"Very pleased with the advice given - particularly on voicing and quality of sound of individual guitars. Miles led me to a final choice of instrument that I felt most comfortable with and I know I shall enjoy playing and one that will improve my playing. (J Hernandez - Torres model) Back up provided by Christine was most helpful and biscuits delicious."
"A good range of guitars available; all of which were of very high quality for their given price. Fantastic standard of service from the moment he replied to my first e-mail until the moment he dropped us back to the train station. He made the process of finding a new guitar very easy. I would certainly recommend Kent Guitar Classics to others and would definitely buy from you again although I don't think I'll be buying another new guitar for a while. I love my new guitar!"
"I hadn't come across another store with such a broad selection. I like stores that specialise like this as you tend to deal with people that know their field. I could not find any suitable classical guitar in the Helsinki music stores, so after consulting with Miles and stating my price range, I was given excellent advice on which models would be suitable and the differences between them. The model I selected (Vowinkel Duende) was delivered in four days, arrived in perfect condition and was set up just right for me. The quality of the guitar has exceeded all my expectations."
Steve Evans - Finland
"Excellent advice, accurate descriptions of alternatives and help with matching choice of guitar to my needs/type of playing. Brilliant service, excellent communications by phone and email helping me choose my guitar and keeping me informed of progress at all stages. Having come across Kent Guitar Classics through an internet search I have been very favourably impressed in my dealings with Miles who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The Juan Hernandez guitar I eventually bought was sent quickly, well packaged and is a superb quality guitar - pretty well unbeatable at the price. This is the first guitar I have ever bought ‘unseen’ but Miles’s guidance and accuracy of description, as well as the 7 days approval, reassured me."
"Kent Guitar Classics have a great variety of guitars. I can easily find what I am looking for; the only problem is enough money. With very good advice and description; the guitar was even better than I imagined. One of the best dealers I have bought from; and I have bought many."
Jens Hostrup - Denmark
"The choosing of a new guitar can be fraught with self-doubt and uncertainty; especially as in a case like mine where, within a certain budget, I was looking for an instrument to compare with my 1973 Rubio / Fischer spruce-topped guitar, that I had from new. From my experience, MrRoberts, on hearing my playing, had an intuitive understanding of my personal requirements from an instrument, whether I would benefit from a cedar or spruce top or place of origin of the guitar, England, Spain etc. In the end, in a relaxed atmosphere at Kent Guitar Classics and with the help of Miles Roberts, I came away more than happy with a cedar top Juan Hernandez - Concierto model; very different from the Rubio , but with its own very admirable qualities. Now, with my new guitar and renewed enthusiasm, I am re-discovering my old repertoire."
"I have enjoyed The Kent Guitar Classics site for years, admiring the eye-candy guitars and listening to the well played and recorded sound samples. So when looking for something really special I was lead back to Miles' place on the net and then to the real deal in Chipstead. From start to finish I was very well looked after by Miles who is a very knowledgeable and easy going guy and my new Juan Hernandez is an absolute joy. To have Miles play a few pieces on the guitar was the difference in making the final choice as well as his pinpoint accuracy in description beforehand. His no-nonsense approach was a breath of fresh air and the whole transaction easy. Thanks so much for the welcome, the hospitality (thanks Christine), the guitar chat and Miles' playing and of course my magnificent Concierto. The glorious spring sunshine topped off a most enjoyable and rewarding day out. Thank you."
"I am incredibly happy and grateful to you for all your advice, kind words and assistance in helping me to get such a marvelous instrument. The description listed on the site, as well as explanations of the description given by e-mail and phone, were accurate and well-considered. The service was outstanding - I always felt comfortable and confident that I was being dealt with fairly and always in a very timely manner. It is amongst the most pleasant purchases I have made, especially when considering the value of the investment and the typical anxieties associated with this sort of purchase. Thanks so much! I will be sure to sing your praises to anyone in search of a fine guitar."
Christopher Saah - USA
"Kent Guitar Classics has a very broad range of instruments to choose from, which I find more reasonably-priced when compared with dealers here in the U.S. Kent Guitar Classics gave a very accurate and honest description of all the guitars that I was considering. Miles and I were able to pick out the right instrument over the phone without having to fly guitars back and forth. Kent Guitar Classics have given me the best service that I have ever received and are always available to anwer questions; Miles even made himself available as late as 10 p.m. Without question, I will be buying my next guitar from Kent Guitar Classics."
Mark Giese - USA
"Buying from Kent Guitar Classics eliminates the risk of negotiating a sale with luthiers overseas -e.g. risk-free transaction from knowledgeable and trustworthy source. Excellent quality of advice - photographs, sound recording and comments sent by e-mail."
"The detailed website descriptions helped me find the type of instrument I was looking for. With great personal service, there is a guitar at Kent Guitar Classics for every type of player. I am delighted with the Stephen Frith guitar I purchased - its lovely deep sound is a wonderful confidence booster and helps me to get more out of the music I enjoy."
"Kent Guitar Classics are a pleasure to deal with - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and with access to a wide market. I am delighted with the price they sold my guitar for, which I am sure is far greater than I could have achieved had I sold it privately."
"Although I have not visited KGC in person, it is clear from the website and discussions with the director, that the range and quality of instruments is of an exceptional, world-class standard, with there being options - in terms of value, style and provenance - to suit most requirements. It is not often that one can recommend a 'dealer' without any misgivings whatsoever - and to recall the discussions and overall experience with a smile. I would recommend Kent Guitar Classics without reservation - and look forward to finding my next special instrument via the extensive knowledge and thoughtful consideration of the proprietor, Miles Roberts."
"Very good range of guitars; a nice change from the usual luthiers offered by other companies - good coverage of all price ranges. Advice given:- Absolutely spot on. Service & Comunication:- excellent. A very pleasing experience, with an excellent end result. A first class dealer."
"Hi Miles - Magnificent on all counts!! I really don't think I've had the experience of ever playing such an instrument. The guitar is in perfect condition . Fedex took good care of it and your packing, I might add, is most impressive. Let Fritz know I am absolutely thrilled and look forward to many years of enjoyment playing my new Ober. I can't get over the depth of sound and the clarity of voices as you play. And, the guitar is brand new to boot! I can only imagine how the instrument will develop. Thanks so much!! Best Regards-- Jeff"
"Range & Quality - First Class. Quality of Advice - Excellent. Service & Communication - Perfect. Would buy from you again & recommend to others. I am unable to provide any more superlatives!"
"The best help and advice I have ever received in buying a guitar - and I have bought several over 40 years from a variety of places. I never felt hurried or hassled or under pressure to buy anything beyond my budget or a particular make. Kent Guitar Classics enabled me to buy with confidence despite my limited knowledge of classical guitars. The whole service was most impressive and Miles was incredibly helpful and patient during my two extended visits. Christine and I found it a real pleasure to listen to, watch and learn so much from a man so passionate about classical guitar. Top marks for 100% professional service."
"The José Antonio (Fleta copy) guitar is a delight to play. The quality of goods on offer was very high. All this and the ability to choose in unhurried, friendly surroundings ... great coffee too"
"Reading the website testimonials, I could not let the moment pass without adding my own deep satisfaction and excitement over my recent purchase of the 2009 Jean-Noël Rohé guitar. I can expand little on the glowing and entirely justified comments that customers have made and I have experienced your kindness, patience and valued assistance as to choice, at first hand. It is well-known that your knowledge of guitars and makers is vast and used to assist potential purchasers in their choice, whatever the maker's name or reputation, so as to meet your customer’s needs. (Having heard Miles play, it is plain that he can make a pretty good sound himself!) Be warned, however, the choice of instruments is staggering and it will take quite some time to pick from the enormous range. Miles will not hurry you in any way and he has the patience of a saint with awkward and discerning customers like me. I have noticed that the turnover of instruments is phenomenal, with new stock arriving frequently which must excite potential purchasers and those wishing to upgrade or try something new. Finally, I would like to say how very pleased I am with the Rohé I purchased which surprises me every day by its on-going maturity, tone and ease of playing - A truly wonderful instrument. Thankyou. David Jaggs. (www.davidjaggs.com)"
"You told us what sort of sounds different woods make - you spent a lot of time with us and gave us loads of advice. I really enjoyed coming and trying the guitars and was very pleased with all the service."
Daniel Crisp - age 11
"A big Thankyou - I am loving the guitar (Prudencio Saez model 22 Flamenco); it is very hard to put down. Miles was good enough to allow me to compare the Prudencio 22F with a guitar four times the price - it held it's own!"
"Miles was very instructive and honest. We had alot more personal attention than we would have got anywhere else. We learned a lot about what makes a good instrument and came away with a lot more knowledge and a beautiful guitar."
"To all the people in the world who are looking for good guitars:- For a long time I looked in the internet for good guitars and sometimes I looked at the website of Kent Guitar Classics. The 1st of september 09 I saw a Jim Redgate guitar and the description sounds very nice to me, as the guitar I was looking for. But I was a little bit undetermined. From Germany I couldn´t come to England to try the guitar. So I called to Miles at KGC and spoke with him about this guitar. He was so convinced by the quality of this guitar that I immediately trusted him and bought it. A few days later the instrument arrived (very professionally packed). I was very excited and tried it. I was absolutely impressed about the sound, very loud, with many different sound colours, warm, deep, strong, brilliant, fresh. Very easy and comfortable to play - a fantastic instrument! Miles offered me the possibility to send the instrument back, if I would not be convinced 100%, so I felt absolutely free! Now the guitar is with me 2 weeks and I love it more every day, I'm playing every free minute I have. I am very glad to having risked it. So here is my advice: If you see a guitar at KGC and you think that this guitar could be your perfect instrument, just call Miles and speak to him. Just try it! Christian from Laatzen, Germany"
Christian Butzek - Laatzen, Germany
"There was an amazing range of guitars, high quality and quite exciting. The advice and assistance was very good concerning not only guitars but Bed & Breakfast arrangements, food and concerns of well-being. I felt myself quite at home and had the feeling they cared about me as a human being as well as a potential buyer. Thank you very much for taking time, even to record me and so facilitate my decision. Thanks to the two of you for the respect and care."
"In my search for a flamenco guitar, I started with the idea of buying a vintage 'blanca' with peg-head and ended up with a superb new 'negra' with machine tuners by José Marin Plazuelo! It is quite difficult to find a selection of quality flamenco guitars in the same place outside Spain and the USA, so the qualityof the selection was impressive. Miles is clearly knowledgeable about guitars, materials etc., and conveys this well. Excellent friendly service and the coffee and biscuits kept me fuelled while trying guitars."
"I tried over half a dozen wonderful guitars at Kent Guitar Classics and with Miles' guidance I chose a lovely cedar Marin Plazuelo guitar. Choosing the guitar was rather like dining in a 5-star restaurant without having to pay the bill! I can't put the guitar down and am absolutely thrilled with its beautiful sound. The quality of advice was the best I have heard. I definitely would buy from you again - would not go anywhere else - and would certainly recommend you to others."
"Miles, once again you have surpassed my expectations. If there was a Nobel Prize for Business, I would nominate you immediately. The Simon Ambridge photos are intriguing and informative. His workmanship is impeccable - exactly as I remember it from the Torres model. Thanks, Charles."
Charles Rasor - USA
"Hi - Greetings from Iceland. I just wanted to say I am really happy about the Jim Redgate guitar I bought in Spring 2006. And It was a wonderful experience coming to Kent and try all the guitars that you had. All The Best: Kristinn Freyr"
Kristinn Freyr Kristinsson - Iceland
"I really want to say what a pleasure it was to buy my guitar from you. I never felt rushed or pressured into making a decision, and you allowed me all the time in the world to play different guitars - I did wonder at one point, surrounded by 8 guitars how I was ever going to decide though! I am just so pleased with it, every time I take open the case it gives me such joy! I took it to the Berkshire guitar society last week, and played Hommage a Tarrega and was completely blown away by the sound in a different space - I can't wait to play it at the Cathedral of the Isles. Thank you for all your help. Kind regards"
"Having recently bought a guitar from Kent Guitar Classics, I had no hesitation in using Miles to sell my original guitar. I was delighted to again receive the same high standard of service delivered in his usual professional and personal style. The guitar was duly sold quickly and to everyone's satisfaction."
"Thanks for all the additional information Miles. Very helpful. Also, I have told several guitar friends how impressed I have been with the quality and integrity of your business and what a great job you do of accurately describing guitars. Hopefully, when they consider another purchase, they will consider you. Best regards,"
Bob Dell - USA
"I've been meaning to send you this feedback for ages and I've finally got round to doing it. I hope the comments may be of some use. It's difficult to think of suggestions for improving your service so I'm afraid there aren't any on my form! With best wishes"
"The Antonio Marin Montero flamenco guitar is absolutely fantastic - last night I had the opportunity to try it out in the hall of the music school where I was working - it was unbelievable. Best wishes"
"Just to say how thankful I am for your services and help to me when buying a new guitar (José Marin Plazuelo - cedar). The trip was a nice one. Say hi to Christine. We'll stay in touch. Best regards"
Ólavur Jakobsen - Faroes Islands
"The Jean-Noel Rohe is great. Let Jean-Noel know again how grateful I am; it's a beautiful instrument. If I come across anyone looking for a new guitar ......"
"I just thought that I would drop you a line to say thank you for the fantastic service you gave to me. I have never bought a guitar under such pleasant, non-pressuried circumstances. Your patience, enthusiasm and honesty of opinion made the experience much easier and I came away with a very positive view of my purchase even before I got it home. Anybody considering buying a guitar from you who are concerned, as was I, about feeling obligated to buy because they are coming to you and having a personal service from you need not worry. I did not feel that I was under any pressure or obligation at all. Keep up the good work and I hope to do business with you again in the future."
"Just to let you know that the Antonio Marin guitar arrived safely in its new home. I wish my English had allowed me to thank you properly for the warm welcome I received from you and your wife. I'd like to tell you how much I appreciated your sense of service and your precious advice. Thank you so very much. I had a wonderful time and it will always be associated with the guitar."
Michel Sangan - Paris
"Thanks for your message. Yes I am enjoying my Camps 2000 guitar very much. I think it is very good value. I certainly did the right thing when I contacted you for your advice and assistance. Long may you prosper. Regards"
"The packaging was really well done, I knew you were a professional... really nice job. I was also amazed when I took a close look at the cedar details. The guitar really sings; that is the right word. The sustain is incredible... the same is the ability to do beautiful vibratos ... and it seems its intonation is just perfect. The sound is amazing, you were right... In conclusion - it is really a beauty. I am happy that it is mine. Thank you for all the advice and really kind care,"
Marko Zorec - Slovenia
"Hi Tim - I purchased a Marin Montero from Kent Guitar Classics a couple of weeks ago. I was constantly updated by Miles regarding the guitar throughout the process of waiting for the guitar to be completed and collected from Granada which Miles went over himself. I am very particular about the action and string buzz. Hence I specifically instructed Miles to check both the action and buzz while he was at Granada so that any amendments, if required, could be performed by Montero himself, if need be. Very satisfied also with packaging and delivery .... So, to answer your question, I was very satisfied with the services of Kent Guitar Classics and Miles himself and you can deal with them with the highest of confidence. Regards"
Ker Ann Gan - Singapore
"I very much enjoyed meeting you on Saturday and I am so pleased that you managed to persuade Antonio to make a Cedar Bouchet. I cannot get over the pure quality of the instrument. Paul Durham was very, very impressed when he played it on Monday. Thank you so much for the photo. I shall frame it because it is something very special with a guitar of such great quality and produced by one of the world's best luthiers. I am sure our paths will cross again and who knows I may even buy another Marin from you in the future. Best wishes. I shall let you know how I get on with my new friend."
"Just a note to confirm that I will be keeping the Daniele Chiesa guitar. The sound is fantastic and I am looking forward to discovering what it can do. Many thanks again for all your help (and a fair degree of patience!) in helping me choose this excellent guitar. Best regards"
Jonathan Moan - N.Ireland
"Miles is a true guitarist with a genuine understanding of how the guitar works and of the fine quality instruments he chooses to sell. In addition, I found Miles both professional and understanding and went beyond the call of duty to help me find the perfect guitar. I would recommend to anybody who is looking for a guitar at any level to consult Miles at Kent Guitar Classics first. Once again - Thank You."
"Your packing and paperwork were superb. In fact, I never imagined myself buying three guitars on the net until l came across your website. I played the guitar at last - It sounds as good as it looks. Flamencas from Ramirez tend to have a somewhat mellower tone than many blancas from other makers, I love that. It's ironic that I found the Ramirez I was looking for in the UK; as I told you, one can find many of these in Spain but they have always been extensively played and in no good condition, to say the least. ( 1960's Ramirez flamenco)"
Luis Gutierrez- Madrid
"Hi Miles-- I just wanted you to know that the Delarue is coming along beautifully. It is going to be an exceptional instrument without doubt. I am currently using GHS La Classique medium high tension strings on it and it sounds fabulous. It really reminds me of the Rey De La Torre cedar Fleta I had some years ago. But it is definitely has its own sound and Dominique should be applauded for creating such a masterpiece. Thanks so much."
Jeff Harrison - USA
"My Dominique Field is PERFECT. I love that guitar more and more every day. It is just such an amazing guitar - a true world class. I feel very fortunate in having it. I'm very grateful to you, and your conservative approach in describing the guitar as we went along, in our communications. You were very good and professional in every respect. You never built any false hopes in me before I got the guitar. This is funny because I gotta tell you in the first week of having the Field I was ready to return it and get my money back. Then on the last two days it started showing its real colors. Enough that I thought I probably should not return it. Today it's hard to believe this is the same guitar because its sound has nothing in common to how it sounded at first. A big thank you. . ."
Ingo Sveinsson - USA
"I am thoroughly enjoying the guitar, I think she is a beauty. She has a pleasant, rich, warm tone, with a hint of darkness and bite (sounds like a rather good wine!). It is a very versatile guitar, just as good for finger-style folk as it is for classical and flamenco. The neck is one of the best I have played, comfortable with a fast action, satisfying yet demanding. Also for a new guitar it has a good range of dynamics, as a good nylon string guitar should. I find with steel strung guitars, they can be a bit "one sound", but this guitar has such a range. All in all, I am delighted! I have recommended you to a couple of friends, so you never know!"
"A big thank you for the time and trouble you went to help me select a new guitar. The demonstration of the nuances of guitar construction and the subtle tonal variations achieved was fascinating. Tea and cake was much appreciated too! I was particularly impressed by the way you were able to suggest a guitar that was right for my ability and playing experience. You rightly pointed out that without decent nails and technique, caused by many years as a self-taught player of an acoustic instrument, I wasn't going to get the best out of some of the most highly-priced instruments. Rory Russell, my guitar teacher, recommended you and I am really pleased that he did. Sevenoaks is a very long way from Stockport but the journey was wholly valuable and thoroughly worthwhile. I have been playing the Jose Antonio guitar for a couple of days and I think it is beautiful in every respect. It has added immeasurably to my playing pleasure and I am encouraged to practice more now I know I can achieve a really nice sound. I would recommend anyone who wishes to play guitar to visit you. The right instrument makes so much difference to the playing experience at any stage of learning or level of skill. Thank you so much."
"Well....you have one very happy customer here across the ocean. Aesthetically this new Marin Montero guitar is wonderful. The ziricote is out of this world and the top is gorgeous and nicely quarter-sawn. I'm glad that you've encouraged Antonio to bring on the quality of his finish--it's very nice. Thanks for doing such a thorough job of packing. I can see why you've never had a problem sending guitars to the US. Having this guitar in my hand, I certainly don't need another one.... but don't be surprised if you hear from me again someday - as I think I've mentioned before, I've never owned a cedar-topped guitar. All the Best,"
Greg Hansen - USA
"Thank you for all the care in packing and sending the guitar, and all the extra special details. It confirms once more your professionalism and your love for what you do... All the "care instructions" and advice on "how to mature it" were certainly very useful. And the string changer really useful! The guitar is getting better and better, which is extraordinary, given the quality it had already! It is opening even more the range of colours and the precision \ presence at the ppp level, keeps being very comfortable at the fff level, and makes it easy for me to bring all types of contrast I need... Each day the trebles sing better, and have a naturally beautiful ability for vibrato. What I really enjoy is the body of the sound she produces at high or low pitches, forte or piano. The first impression with my teacher (who has a Friederich) was very, very good. She seriously told me (with an inch of surprise and depth in her voice) "La guitarra es muy buena, eh?" It caused quite an impression. I am deeply grateful to all the help you gave me, I think you certainly got the point of my taste, of what I looked for, and although I could have bought the Friederich (it was actually hard to let such an opportunity go), there is absolutely no regret on having bought this guitar (in terms of quality). And I am sure that without your guidance I wouldn't have known or tried any of Jean-Noël's guitars, which would be a shame..."
Gonçalo Cordeiro - Portugal
"I wanted to thank you deeply for all the help, honesty, objectiveness, professionalism and confidence you have shown me through this deal. It was a special and exquisite opportunity to be at your place, surrounded by such beautiful and refined instruments, "calling" to be played. My existing instrument has some unique qualities, but I'm sure the Jean-Noel Rohé will certainly fulfil the specific things I was missing until now. Can't wait to play her and feel her grow and mature throughout the years. It certainly has been a pleasure meeting you. Best regards for you and Christine,"
Gonçalo Cordeiro - Portugal
"Now here's something that won't make it to the testimonial section of your website but I don't know how else to say it. This Christopher Dean is a f****** great guitar!!! I just really had to share that with you. I'm afraid that you may have to put up with occasional e-mails of this nature from time to time. I'm feeling a bit giddy."
Gary - USA
"As you can imagine, I spent most of the weekend playing Gerhard Oldiges - "La Haya", and I can only confirm my first impression - it's just an incredible instrument. Yesterday I tried it out in the music school auditorium. As I was alone I can't say how it sounded out front, but my impression while playing was that the whole room was just filled with sound, and I'm looking forward to hearing it played by one of my colleagues. Especially noticeable to me was the ease with which it's possible to achieve contrasts in tone colour, and also that the tone doesn't seem to lose body while playing very softly."
Friedrich Roth - Austria
"Just to let you know the Ambridge arrived safe and sound about an hour ago. I haven't had a chance to actually play it yet...will do so later today...but the appearance is just stunning. I know Simon's work, and it is first-rate, but he has truly outdone himself."
Fred Dilzell - USA
"I bought the Bert Kwakkel from you back in the summer. I'm still delighted with my guitar, wonderful sound, great looks, the lot!"
"I just thought I would let you know how pleased I am with my new Christopher Dean guitar. It really is everything I asked for and gets better and better every day. Thank you."
"Please let Dominique Delarue know how pleased I am with his guitar. All the best,"
Chris Anderson - USA
"Hi Miles. Just to say I am enjoying the Juan Hernandez - Concierto model. The sound is what I wanted and a bit more - very clean sounding instrument. Regards"
"I just wanted to let you know I am getting on very well with the Jose Marin Plazuelo guitar and absolutely love the rich sound. Thanks once again for helping me find the right guitar - it was a little difficult to be sure whether I was going for the right one at the time but having had it for a few months now I am absolutely sure I made the right choice."
"I picked up my Antonio Marin Montero tonight and just wanted to let you know how thrilled I am. The guitar is beyond words and I can't wait to really see how she sounds in a few days!! Thanks again for all of your help. I'll write again in a few days I'm sure....... I'm still thrilled each time I pick up my guitar and could not be more pleased!"
Alex MacAllister - USA
"I played the Cashimira a bit this morning and I'm extremely impressed. A fantastic guitar for the money"
"Just thought you might like to know I am completely thrilled with my new guitar"
"I am delighted with the instrument and would like to thank you for your expert advice while I was there. I look forward to doing business with you again in the future"
"You have served me so professionally that I will introduce you to those that are thinking of buying premium European guitars"
Yasukazu Aiuchi - Tokyo
"I must tell you that I never thought of buying a guitar through the internet, but with you it was like doing it in person. I felt confidence and pleasure talking to you and I am happy with your excellent service"
Andre Gross - Lisboa
"I found that the service was excellent where you maintained good communications in a responsive manner and showed a positive attitude towards me. I also found that you have demonstrated your honesty and genuine comments on the guitar. This is very important because we are dealing the transaction via the net... ….the quality of guitar turned out to be better than its description"
"It was such a nice atmosphere to be in whilst choosing a guitar. It is such a beautiful guitar and I still get really excited every time I pick it up to play"
"A superb, beautiful instrument - thank you."
Aleksander Semyonov - Australia
"Thanks again for your very friendly and professional service"
"The service and communication were both without fault. Before I arrived in Chipstead, I told you that I could afford guitars between £1000 and £2000. You made no attempt to persuade me to buy outside that range in order to increase you own profit. Excellent supply & service"
"Once again, Thank You for all your unstinting help. I shall certainly recommend your name to anyone who cares about the classical guitar as a man of great knowledge and integrity."
"I wanted to thank you for your advice and endless patience when I visited on Friday morning. I had anticipated needing time to choose a guitar, but the fact that it took so long was due not only to my inexperience but also no doubt to the relaxed and congenial surroundings and, not least, to the excellent range instruments you had available. I can't think of a more pleasurable context for choosing an instrument. It was a joy to discover Kent Guitar Classics and I do wish you well as you continue to develop the business - given the quality of service and of guitars you offer it thoroughly deserves to thrive."
Dr Stuart Jordan
"Thank you very much for the time you spent with us - I didn't realise how long we had been with you, the time went so quick. We all learnt so much from you and as my husband tells people, we drove approx 150 miles round trip, spent £xxx and all came back with smiles on our faces - that doesn't happen often!!"
Mrs Debbie Yates
"I was impressed with the selection of high quality guitars that you carry; but equally important the detailed and honest answers you gave to my inquiries. After receiving the Southwell guitar and seeing the accuracy and honesty of your description, I feel I can purchase a guitar from you over the internet without needing to play the guitar first. Your 3 day approval period only bolsters that confidence"
Chan Joe - New York
"The purchase of a concert guitar is one of the most significant personal investments one can make. Kent Guitar Classics go out of their way to help you make the right choice of instrument."
"I would like to thank you for the time you have taken to advise me on guitars and sound systems. As a result I have never been more pleased with any guitar I own than the the two I purchased from you. While the Southwell Hauser copy was a guitar I had been looking for, David Rouse is a maker I had never heard of. Thanks for introducing his guitar to me. I know I'm beginning to get a little redundant but I am absolutely in love with my Rouse guitar. I'm also looking forward to start taking the Fane out on gigs because there is nothing like it here in the U.S.. I can't wait to see the reactions I'll get when people see it and hear its quality. I know you mentioned that Fane will be introducing its flat panel speakers in the U.S.; but right now it's something no one I know has ever seen"
"The guitar is absolutely fantastic and I haven't stopped playing it. An impressive and unique selling service offering quality instruments - you won't find anything like this elsewhere - very pleased!"
"Thanks for your time & hospitality. I am very pleased with the guitar indeed; it is a very fine instrument. What more is there to say?"
"Many thanks for your prompt, efficient and above all, considerate service. It has taken me a long time to pluck up courage to buy a decent instrument and you made the process exciting and enjoyable. It was a rare treat to discuss guitars with someone with a huge amount of knowledge about and a passion for the instrument and a real pleasure doing business with you."
"Helpful and extremely knowledgeable. You helped me choose my dream guitar and were patient and very considerate. I've never had better service in all my years of teaching and playing. Thank you."
"It was a delight to be able to try out and assess a wide range of fine instruments in such a relaxed setting. Best wishes for the future"
"Very accurate in the instrument description in both website and communication. Patience, honesty, good communication are the key points to satisfy the customers. I strongly believe that Kent Guitar Classics possesses all of them. I don't think I can really explain how good the guitar is; I think that Marin is Marin.....unbeatable. Many thanks for letting me own the guitar."
Sunny Hwang - USA
"Now that I've had a few days with the guitar (used Christopher Dean), I can officially say that I am thrilled with it. It is exactly as you've described it, both in appearance and sound quality. A very handsome instrument, with an absolutely lush sound, balanced by excellent clarity of tone. As far as I'm concerned, the guitar couldn't have been described more accurately. I would have no hesitancy in recommending your shop to anyone seeking to purchase a fine guitar from abroad. I was amazed that the guitar reached my doorstep two days after shipping, even after being held up in customs. Overall, this was an easy and very pleasant transaction."
Gary Ralph - USA
"Excellent quality of advice given (Accuracy of instrument description etc), with a standard of service and communication that was Great! Trustworthy, Honest seller. Knowledgeable to a fault. If you are a professional or just a beginner you can trust Miles to see that you get the right instrument for your needs."
Kevin Morse - USA
"Superb standard of service & communication. That little extra time you spent with us made all the difference; thank you for that. Now that a few weeks have passed since the purchase, I feel happy about saying - Monique is very happy with the guitar and is having great fun exploring all the new tones it brings. A good recommendation, many thanks!"
Graham Charles Williams
"The quality of all the guitars I tried was without exception quite excellent. The condition of second hand guitars is described with a refreshingly rigorous honesty. I have for a long while wanted to own a really good classical guitar even though my ability as a player is never likely to match the instrument. I am extremely grateful for your very generous time and patience in showing me a wonderful range of guitars in the price range I wanted and giving what I felt was very objective advice about the relative merits of the different instruments. At no time did I feel pressurised to buy. I now feel that I have a very special instrument that I will treasure for years to come."
"Quality of advice, service & communication - all excellent. I bought a 2001 Christopher Dean from Miles & Christine and found their service and hospitality to be outstanding. I was initially worried about a scratch on the top, but Miles offered to have Christopher Dean look at it, repair the scratch and gave the guitar an all round polish, so when it arrived it was faultless. This was all done within the price of the guitar. Miles chooses his guitars with great care and takes plenty of time to help you choose a guitar that is suitable to your playing style."
"Relaxed, truly personal service. You made the effort to find the sound I was looking for which I had not been able to clearly identify for myself! I am delighted with the guitar."
"I was kept well informed as to the progress of my guitar order. I am very pleased with this guitar as supplied."
"Purchasing a guitar through mail order was not something I ever thought I would do, but Miles' advice and obvious knowledge about the instruments gave me the level of confidence to purchase. The guitar I received is superb now, but the icing on the cake is that it will get even better. This was a valuable educational experience as well - as I now know more about guitars than I did before I contacted Miles - keep up the good work."
"Excellent range of cedar, spruce, English, international. A much better range than the average outlet which tends to concentrate on specific brands. I particularly like the fact that Miles as a player is willing to demonstrate the instruments and sound by playing pieces so you can hear what they sound like from the listener's perspective. A thoroughly enjoyable experience to be recommended to anyone looking for a classical guitar."
"Many thanks to Miles & Christine for their consistent hospitality, patience & courteous service. Miles' willingness to play the instruments has helped me in my decision-making, resulting in the purchase of two instruments. Descriptions are reliable and careful handling of instruments commendable. With his assistance in personally selecting tonewoods based on my requirements, I have acquired a Paco Santiago Marin which not only sounds but looks very good."
"I first saw the Kent Guitar Classics' site about a year ago. I was impressed by the interesting range of guitars that was being offered, including ones owned previously by Julian Bream. Descriptions of guitars were realistically stated and perceptive in contrast to extravagant, voluptuous, nearly salacious accounts of guitars that one frequently reads on some other guitar sites. Our transaction was a complicated, "trans-oceanic" one involving the sale of a guitar of mine and the commission of a new guitar from Christopher Dean, built by him with my preferences in mind. Miles apparently seems to have unparalleled access to Mr. Dean's guitars, having sold many more fine Deans than any other dealer. Because of Miles' relationship with Dean, I was able to receive my new guitar in six months. At every step of the process Miles was there with enthusiasm and energy. He sent me photos of the Brazilian rosewood before it was made into a guitar back. For me, life does not get any more fun than that. Miles' persistance brought this transaction to a wildly successful conclusion. I own a wonderful new Dean which I love. Miles was a joy to deal with and has become-after months of copious e-mails, a respected friend. I anticipate working with him in the future, despite the logistical problems of being on opposite sides of the Atlantic."
Richard Ullman - USA
"Kent Guitar Classics offers an excellent shop-window for reselling of concert classical guitars. A customer was found quickly and a better price obtained than would have been possible selling privately. Very knowledgeable and professional service."
