2015 - model RF165. Labelled, dated and signed by the maker.
East Indian rosewood with attractive multi-line purfling.
The back, sides and neck appear to be nitro-varnished for resistance to playing and handing wear; a popular choice with many players.
European spruce - a silky, well-quartered top with intricate, geometric rosette, matching purfling and bridge tie-block decoration. The front appears to be shellac french-polished.
Rubner with decorated edge side-plates, white rollers and white buttons.
65cm with 19 frets (20 for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd strings) on an elevated, ebony fingerboard which is mildly radiused.
53mm at the nut with 43 mm string spacing.
In very near-new condition - some localised, minor polish dulling and just a few very minor, superficial marks.
This is the first that we have seen from this admired young German maker. The workmanship is really very precise and tidy which is always a good sign. The sound is generally very full, traditional and rounded with bass depth from G air resonance and a well-sustaining treble. The strength and volume are pleasing and it is comfortable to play.
So - a well-built instrument with good sound and near-new condition with some price saving from a new one -which we believe to be €10,000.
