2013 - Labelled, stamped, signed and dated by the maker.
Spanish cypress of the highest quality; quarter-sawn and straight-grained. With simple yet elegant purfling and rosewood bindings. All shellac french-polished.
European spruce - a high quality, very silky front with the maker's black & white rosette, rosewood bridge with bone-framed tie-block capping and clear golpeador.
Fustero lyre pattern with engraved brass side-plates and perloid buttons.
65cm with 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard.
52mm with 43.5 mm string spacing
This is a secondhand guitar in very nearly new, original condition. You have to look hard to find very small marks - and the surface of the golpeador is dulled from a bit of normal playing.
Manuel Caceres Pizarro was one of the well-known Ramirez journeymen going back to the 1960's. As an independent artisan, he has been equally respected for high quality classical and flamenco guitars with much of his output committed to the Japanese market. For about 12 years he worked very closely with Arcangel Fernandez, from whom he sourced much of his timbers. You can also see reference to Arcangel and to Marcelo Barbero in the head shape.
This very fine example displays quality everywhere; in the materials, the constructional details and in the sound.
