This superbly-crafted lute is one of two for sale made for JULIAN BREAM by the renowned Swiss luthier Luc Breton and which Julian describes as "gems of lute-maker's craft". Luc Breton confirms these are his normal design lutes that are not modified for guitarists. They were played extensively by Julian Bream as a solo instrument and with the Julian Bream Consort in recordings and in public performances from 1986 until 1993 when he retired from lute playing. See RCA Victor Vol.7 - Fantasies, Ayres & Dances and Vol.17 - Two Loves. Both near-identical lutes are much more authentic in construction than some of the metal-fretted ones he had in earlier years. What a rare opportunity to grab in one, a superb instrument and a part of Julian Bream lute performance history. Including the original custom-fit case, which is serviceable but has lost much of its fabric covering; needs a new case really.
