José Antonio - made in Valencia

  • Year:

Copy of the famous Hermann Hauser guitars from the 1930's to 1950's, at modest price. Made in Spain to specification by Aria Japan using the label name José Antonio

  • Body:

Indian rosewood - dark and attractive figuring with fine purfling in green and yellow. Body shape and depth copied from a genuine Hauser.

  • Front:

European spruce. Fine-grained towards the centre. Double purfling and with an attractive Hauseresque rosette. Very attractive, slightly petite body shape taken from an original. Inside the strutting pattern is 7 fan-strut with a bridge plate and closing bars

  • Tuners:

Schallers with white, rounded buttons. Neck of central American cedar..

  • Scale:

    65cm

  • Neck Width:

    51mm at the nut.

  • Condition:

New. In appearance much like a Hauser, who produced many different body patterns of course. Lacquered polish throughout; very well done.

  • Comments:

These replica guitars are very impressive at the price. They are not only copies in terms of shapes, dimensions and decoration but they have some of the feel and sound character of the real thing. The Hauser model is lovely to play; perhaps the slightly smaller body is reponsible for the spontaneous feel and sound. The sound has depth, clarity and good balance. Truly excellent value, looking highly attractive and so enjoyable to play. Highly recommended.
