Greg Smallman - Australia.

  • Year:

    1997 - with hand-written, dated label

  • Body:

A heavy-bodied instrument with multi-layer back and sides (although the grain pattern inside and out are matching, suggesting it is solid) with rosewood outer veneer that is very characterful and attractive. With the typical Smallman arched, braceless back. The back, sides, neck and head are all lacquer-finished as standard with this maker's instruments.
The neck does not have the adjustable angle mechanism that later ones have.

  • Front:

Cedar - with the renowned Smallman lattice support construction. With fine-detailed mosaic rosette, arm-rest and padauk bridge. The front is lightly oil-finished.

  • Tuners:

Schaller with white rollers and white buttons

  • Scale:

65cm with 19 frets on an unidentified timber fingerboard

  • Neck Width:

52mm at the nut with 43.5 mm string spacing.

  • Weight:

    2585 grams

  • Condition:

This Greg Smallman guitar is in extremely good condition. The head and neck are as new, though there is some surface wear to the fingerboard. The back, sides and front have negligible marks.

  • Comments:

Here is a fine Greg Smallman - they are so well-known and the same as seen and heard in the hands of John Williams, Carlos Bonell, Xuefei Yang, Craig Ogden and many, many more professional artists all over the world. This one is in very good condition and has the expected strength, loudness and tonal characteristics. There a long waiting list for these instruments and so this one in terrific condition is an opportunity to buy one immediately available.
