2014 - number 440. Labelled, numbered signed and dated by the maker.
East Indian rosewood. With a 3-piece back; the three sections separated by a fine maple strip. Straight-grained timber, with fine purfling lines, rosewood bindings and beautifully shellac french-polished.
European spruce of high quality in a lattice-braced format, carrying the maker's rosette design, very dark rosewood bridge with bone-capped tie-block. The lattice bracing under the spruce front has no carbon fibre or anything other than wood. The front has an oil varnish finish.
Rodgers tuners with attractive engraved sideplates and white mother-of-pearl buttons, mounted on a rosewood-faced head.
65cm with 19 frets on an ebony fingerboard - and 20th fret for the 1st & 2nd strings..
52mm at the nut with 42.5 mm string spacing.
All shellac french polished.
This Christopher Dean guitar has a spruce, lattice-braced front. It achieves an obvious loudness of sound, a quickness of right-hand response yet with a flexible tone character that is typical Christopher Dean - and hardly anything at all of the lattice 'twang' that so many do have. So, if you enjoy traditional tone colours, combined with the power and rapid right-hand response of more modern construction, then this could be the one.
Very much recommended.

"Having known Miles for many years now I can say with some authority that dealing with him is a pleasure, due largely to my secure feeling that he, like me, has a genuine love of his subject. Over the years I have always been eager to hear feedback from both Miles, and his customers, and this has helped me greatly to bolster my own passion for the guitar and to refine my work ."
