  • Comments:

The classical and flamenco guitars of Barbero hijo, the son of Marcelo Barbero, are recognised as fine instruments in their own right. For years after the death of Marcelo Barbero, Marcelino had a lifetime friendship with Arcangel Fernandez for whom he made guitars under the 'casa Arcangel Fernandez' label. Sadly Barbero hijo died prematurely just a few years ago.
With an air resonance around F#, this classical guitar has a rich, strong sound with a full bass and middle sound and a clear treble. It is a high class Madrid instrument of high pedigree that was brought into England by Pepe Martinez in 1979.
It has a noble quality and is very enjoyable to play. I have seen several of these instruments but can genuinely say this is the best of the lot because of the depth of bass and open quality of sound.
