Made in 1958 - number 48. In stock. Signed, dated, numbered and stamped internally, including down in the lower sides
Spanish cypress - with very straight and stable grain on both back and sides.
European spruce - not particularly narrow-grained and with a clear, replacement golpeador that is larger than the original has been. The rosette is one of those beautiful geometric designs so typical of the top Madrid makers of this period
Machine tuners that may be the originals, with engraved, silver sideplates and possibly ivory buttons.
66cm
51mm at the nut
All French polished - and looking very good but with signs of re-polishing or over-polishing. The front has one short, glued tight and single-cleated crack on the upper bout, treble-side and the possibility; very hard to tell, of a crack on the bass side. Really in super condition for a 50-year-old flamenco guitar
Arcangel - what can you say? One of the great flamenco makers of all time - and here an example in really fine shape with sounds that are very special and complex. It is very crisp and immediate with a penetrating character. No doubt in the hands of an accomplished flamenco, this guitar will give out real magic. The action and set-up feels just right. So, for performers with rich aunties and uncles or a collector seeking a special flamenco, here is an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a flamenco guitar from one of Spain's living greats
