Front of the Ambridge-Hauser during construction
Here is the front of the 1940 Hauser replica taken at the same stage as the adjacent photo of the guitar back. Again Simon has chosen spruce with a grain character as similar as he can find to the original. The final weight of this instrument when completed will be within a few grams of the weight of the original from which it is copied. It will be interesting to observe how the appearance and colour of the guitar comes to life when it is polished. Then of course comes the pleasure of trying out the sound!
