In 2008, Julian Bream chose this Gerhard Oldiges, Hauser-style guitar; one from a batch of three. He has had several deep-voiced and particularly Hauser-style guitars from many fine British makers including Kevin Aram, Brian Cohen and Gary Southwell. Julian chose this particular guitar because it felt in the neck, string tension, physical balance and weight, extremely close to the 1940 Hauser which he likes to rest as much as possible. These days he always prefers very low air resonance instruments. Julian Bream recently re-sold the Oldiges guitar seeking one with deeper body resonance.
