Daniel Friederich in 2003
I met this charming gentleman in 2003 when I took him one of his Arpege model guitars. Although I felt I shouldn't stay long, he was very hospitable and showed me books of letters from famous players, his detail records of each completed concert guitar over the decades and many more quite fascinating things including his stock of timbers. He also played the guitar I took; very sensitively too and alarmed me when demonstarting how flexible a guitar is was - literally, he gripped it and mildy bent neck and body!!
