Fritz Ober – new Hauser/ Torres
Due in October 2009 – a Fritz Ober guitar in the style of Hermann Hauser and with some Torres influence. The last one was of a quality that shocked several people who tried it before it was sold. We are hoping that the new one will have a body resonance down at E flat – generating a quite stunning depth of bass and very clear treble. The guitar due in October is now sold. Philip Woodfield 2009 Grand Concert
Needing little introduction, we are pleased to now have available these fine concert guitars from Philip Woodfield. The lattice fronts generate power and projection but particularly with spruce, they can avoid generating the lattice sound character that many people dislike. Do look at this, the first guitar we have had from Mallorcan maker Fernando Rubin Saglia. Introduced to us by a friend who borrowed one of these guitars for an inpromptu performance nearby his village in the Balearic Islands. Nicely-made, good sound and playability and modest price.
